The Position
We are offering a $1,000 signing bonus!
We are looking for an Operations Manager. This position is for managing the operational functions of a residential and commercial fire and water clean-up and restoration that include all facets of operational, financial and human resources management. In addition, this Manager position implements and enforces the overall mission and vision of the company. This position is also eligible for annual bonuses! Ideal candidate will showcase their leadership skills, attention to details and takes ownership of managing operational and analytical accountability with positive attitude.
Position Overview
Operations Manager leads our production activities in the field, making decisions that impact the success of the assignment. They perform a variety of tasks, monitors and inspects tasks for commercial and residential restoration jobs to ensure completion of drying, demolition and various restoration activities, prepares/reviews documentation to include notes, photos and documents according to company policies and procedures, explains processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers, supervise techs assigned to the job. You will need not only your excellent technical skills, you must have the necessary Customer Service skills that are necessary to work through difficult situations.
You will be responsible for creating estimates in Xactimate utilizing the program guidelines and IICRC standards. Must have basic construction background which includes basic understanding of building materials, flooring and other materials affected by wind, water, fire, smoke and other property damage causes. Job Responsibilities
- The Operations Manager is responsible for the coordination and control of branch production operations, ensuring efficient and profitable operations.
- Engage in the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress including being involved in the hiring, training and development of Technicians and Crew Chief.
- Assist in onboarding, offboarding and performance management of Team Members. - Develops and coaches assigned team through development planning and goal setting.
- Ensures all customers are satisfied with all services performed and assist Customer Service and Marketing to efficiently resolves all customer complaints.
- Maintains a strong working relationship with other departments internally and represent ServiceMaster Restoration By Simons professionally with clients, and business partners.
- Ensures the necessary equipment is assigned and available to each project.
- Ensure all employees are productively scheduled and assigned to customer projects according to the need of the customer and the ability of the employee.
- Ensure the safety of all assigned employees by continuously promoting safety, by maintaining all physical plant and equipment for safety, through enforcement of the company’s written safety program, and by conducting regularly scheduled safety meetings with production personnel.
- Together with the Managers, ensure variable expenses (labor and supplies) meet budgeted target percentages.
- With the Managers, establish weekly production goals for each Crew Chief and Technicians.
Job Requirements
- Must have industry experience as a Water Crew Chief or Operations Manager.
- Must have Good communication skills.
- Must have previous branch production, sales, and management experience.
- Must have a valid Illinois Drivers License
- Able to move and/or lift 50+ lbs.
- Pass background check and drug screen
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
- Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
- Working on-call schedule is required
Incumbent must be prepared to
- Move up to 50 + pounds often, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching is required.
- Express or exchange ideas with others and receive and act on detailed information given.
- For safety reasons, respirators, which are used in certain situations, must be able to seal to your face.
- Be exposed to various inside and outside working conditions: The change of environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
